PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project "EDUCATION, PROFESSION AND EUROPEAN CITIZENSHIP" is a multilayered and multidisciplinary one related principally and focusing on sciences, ICT, art, profession, entrepreneurship and foreign languages. It will provide a chance to all participating school communities (teachers, students and parents) to use and develop a wide range of their potential, in terms of previous knowledge and skills. Throughout the project participating students will have an active practice in sciences and will exercise to use ICT in everyday learning process. They will make research, analysis, assessment, evaluation and presentation of the traditional, current and future jobs. Students will learn how to find job or start their own business step by step, how to use European tools as EUROPASS and ECVET and write a successful CV. The final aim is the establishment of virtual enterprises between students providing services or products to the European market.
This project will combine arts and science. Students will find and present their missing or unknown link in many great career paths combining science and art like architecture, archaeology, cultural geographers, scientific illustration, web development & design. Students will present renewable energy sources of each participating country. They will propose measures to further promote renewable energy, and to shape and create extended awareness of the available technologies.
This project will use fine arts as a vehicle to approach history. Furthermore, teachers and students of each school will cooperate to choose, prepare, present and record a scientific experiment. Students will introduce briefly the theoretical knowledge, run the experiment and extend its everyday life impact. Schools will install weather stations and create a network providing information about weather conditions, to recognize the regional climate.
Students will attend learning strategies courses related to storing and remembering information, foreign language reading comprehension, expressing information, demonstrating competence and social interaction, managing time appropriately and engaging with others to create a quality practice environment. Astronomy course combined with ancient Greek mythology and planets observation by telescope will take place and be recorded The language of communication between partners is English and as a result the people involved will develop their language skills not only in terms of communication, but they will also enrich their vocabulary.
Short-term exchanges of groups of pupils will be a tool for interaction while each school will organize special cultural events. Workshops, surveys and presentations will be held in every meeting. Between meetings five on-line surveys will be held in every school, about unemployment, climate change, sex equality, inclusive decision making processes and xenophobia. Before the meetings students will analyze the results, practicing on ICT and present the beliefs of each school in a video.
Partner schools will cooperate with each other via the Internet and directly during the visits. The students will work in national and international groups. All these will positively affect the ability to work in a group, which is one of the priorities of the labor market.
The project refers to the values of the European Union such as: non-discrimination, tolerance, equality between women and men. It also emphasizes the value of pluralism, affects the ability to present, communicate and supports mobility in the European Union. The above mentioned aspects will be possible to achieve thanks to the fact that the participants will live with host families during visits in participating countries, which will affect parents and encourage their involvement in school affairs.
The key objectives of the project are the development of skills such as creative thinking, inference, integration, digital literacy, emotional intelligence, problem-solving and team-working. It meets the horizontal priorities of strengthening the profile of teaching professions. It improves the quality and effectiveness of education, which affects directly the quality of school work. It also helps in the professional development of teachers involved in the project. All these are possible thanks to the exchange of experiences and the acquisition of new ways of working. The project includes 3 transnational project meetings for coordination and implementation purposes, which will also address issues such as: response plans to deal with crisis and critical issues at school, individual learning plans, content and language integrated learning (CLIL), interdisciplinary learning, motivation by means of active participation in schools administration, testing methods, ways to reward a job well done, bullying and the claim about the value of education.
Organizing meetings, supervising the students’ activities and working on the designated tasks will teach us time and human resources management.
